In terms of number of client inquiries, interest in cloud platforms — also known as “platform as a service” (PaaS) — continues to grow rapidly. Clients are building new applications on Force.com and Microsoft Azure, as well as using “private” PaaS options like Apprenda to consolidate enterprise application portfolios on to a standard multitenant development platform.
Although PaaS still represents a relatively small slice of the cloud market, it’s an incredibly exciting space. Developers are creating platforms for other developers to make their jobs easier. PaaS is where much of the innovation in cloud is happening today.
