An aerospace engineering company restructures ADM for high-flying capacity and quality.
Opportunity
With less than half of its 6,500 applications regularly active, our global aerospace engineering client needed to rationalize and modernize its applications portfolio, reduce its $60 million annual application development and maintenance (ADM) spend and address the risk inherent in relying on a single service provider. The company also sought to address suboptimal quality, less-than-satisfactory flexibility and a heavy dependence on legacy skills.
Imagining IT Differently
ISG developed a sourcing strategy that introduced a multiple-provider panel for application development services and created an implementation plan with multiple providers for application maintenance. Dividing its applications by business function across the company, ISG helped the ADM unit cut costs, improve quality and flexibility and better serve the entire enterprise.
